Introduction
The Department of Applied Foreign Languages was established on July 1, 2019, as the sixth department of the School of Academic Studies. Its earliest predecessor was the Department of Foreign Languages, which was established on October 16, 1960. On July 1, 2005, the Department of Foreign Languages was incorporated into the General Education Center as the Foreign Languages Section. This Section, in response to the national policy of bilingualism, was separated from the General Education Center and established as a department under the School of Academic Studies on July 1, 2019.
The aim of our education is to provide students with both moral and academic training, and to train foreign language personnel for the navy to become command staff, military sales representatives, negotiators and military officers with language communication skills. Moreover, it aims to develop a practical knowledge of foreign languages, to foster international military humanities and career applications, and to train communication and negotiation in a foreign language.
