| Military training is well-organized and consolidated.
It starts from the basic concept of Navigation, Marine
engineering and Naval human sciences, to advanced
navigation and engineering course, basic theories
of electricity and electrical engineering, and finally
to in-depth knowledge of weapons, warfare, dynamic
system, underwater acoustics, ocean meteorology, and
all-round naval technology. Phase-by-phase objectives
are set down for the entire training period. The overall
course design is combined with such summer training
as on-board vessel training and marine corps training,
until the deputy navigation watch certificate is obtained,
further strengthening the combination of military
theories and practices. Each phase of training is
described as follows: |
| |
| 1. Phase
I: First year and summer training |
| Objective: |
Lay the foundation of "clear
Logical thinking." Train cadets' physical
fitness and military discipline; emphasize
"Absolute obedience" and the experience of
vessel life. |
| Course: |
"Naval human sciences domain"
including History of maritime sovereignty,
International marine law, Logics, Traditions
and history of the Navy, Human behaviors and
Leadership, and electives. Summer programs
include Boat training, Radar training,Fire-fighting,Leakage
wall-up, Nuclear biochemistry,Swimming training,Four
new training and Boat & raft training
at National Kaohsiung Marine University,Diving
training,Patrol craft training. |
|
| 2. Phase
II: Second year and summer training |
| Objective: |
Establish basic concept of navigation
and vessel engineering; finish basic on-board
skill training; and lay a foundation for professional
naval knowledge. |
| Course: |
"Naval science domain" including
pilot navigation and marine engineering theory,
principles of ships, "naval engineering" electrical
engineering (electronics and circuits). Summer
programs include Compulsory military program,Navy
group: Jhong-class vessel training Marine
Corps: training at Marine Corps School. |
|
| 3. Phase
III: Third year and summer training |
| Objective: |
Finish advanced navigation and
basic marine engineering course, as well as
electronics and circuits course. Cadets should
possess complete navigation knowledge and
basic naval engineering theory, as preparation
for practical vessel training in the future. |
| Course: |
"Naval science domain" including
celestial navigation and commanding;"basic
science" including underwater acoustics and
ocean meteorology; "naval engineering" including
Factory practice,Vessel simulator,AP-class
vessel training and Ocean University simulator
training,Combat ship training,Training at
Marine Corps School. |
|
| 4. Phase
IV: Fourth year, summer training and voyage training |
| Objective: |
Finish in-depth training in naval
tactics and technologies; educate basic naval
officers with "leadership charisma", "technological
knowledge" and "creativity", and finish deputy
navigation watch certification. |
| Course: |
"Basic science" including automatic
control, "naval engineering" including advanced
naval engineering and warfare system, and
"naval tactics and strategics." Military training
includes Engineering simulator system ,Voyage
