Opening Ceremony of the Department of Applied Foreign Languages

In accordance with the bilingual policy promoted by the Ministry of National Defense, the General Education Center was responsible for the establishment of the Department of Applied Foreign Languages, which was officially announced to be established by Rear-admiral Chiang at 10:00 am on July 1. The Department of Marine Science, Department of Marine Mechanical Engineering, Department of Applied Science, Department of Electrical Engineering and Department of Information Management were set up on July 1, 2000. On July 1 2019, after the establishment of the Department of Applied Foreign Languages, it has become the sixth Department of the Academy, symbolizing another great step forward in the education of the Academy. In combination with the characteristics of the navy, marine literacy, foreign language application and other elements, the Department of Applied Foreign Languages not only cultivates students of its own department with excellent foreign language ability, but also shoulders the responsibility of improving the foreign language ability of students in other departments of the Academy.
